Now that a second anthology is in the works from Express Westerns I thought it would be apropos to look at the first anthology, the highly popular Where Legends Ride. The book is still in print and if you can't stand the wait until A Fistful of Legends hits the shelves then this collection of 14 tales of the old west may be just the thing to keep you occupied.
The collection has previously been reviewed on the Archive so I won't go into detail but the stories contained therein are:
The Prodigal by Chuck Tyrell
Easier than Working by Gillian F. Taylor
A time to Live by Jack Giles
Pretty Polly by Duane Spurlock
The Ballad of Jesssie Barnett by Lance Howard
Bubbles by Ross Morton
One Upon a time in Mirage by I.J. Parnham
The Man who Tracked a River by Derek Rutherford
Crazy she Called Him by Roy Carlton
Stretch - Hemp Station by Ben Bridges
Desert Surrender by Kit Churchill
Hecate by P. McCormac
Snows of Montana by Mathew P. Mayo
Hard Times for the Pecos Kid by Lee Pierce
The original Archive review is HERE.
If you're a long time western fan then you'll love this collection and if you're looking for an introduction to the genre then this book will provide you with varied and thrilling tales set in the old west.
