Undershaw, the former Doyle residence in Hindhead is about to be renovated and a developer wants to turn the mansion into three separate houses and build other premises on the grounds. But campaigners think a museum would be more appropriate.John Gibson from the Undershaw Preservation Trust says the house is full of history: "It's been locked in a time-warp for 75 years, it has got so many original features still there.
"The stable block is absolutely original down to the most minute detail.
"That's all going to be ripped out. It's an absolute disgrace."
Waverley Borough Council will discuss the planning application tonigh (Thurs 10 June).
