TV COPS WEEKEND - COP CARS

Quite often the cars driven in the cop shows became as iconic, if not more so than the stars themselves - think Starsky's Torino, Morse's Jag but in real life the TV Cops cars of choice were often totally at odds with their TV characters. James Garner for instance drove a British Mini which makes one wonder how the gentle giant ever got in and out of the car. And Telly Savalas was famous for his Rolls with its personalised number plates. "TELLY S"

Kate Jackson of Charley's Angels always favoured a jeep, while Policewoman Angie Dickinson drove a Alfa for a great many years.

Other TV cops whose personal cars were well known was Barry Norman who always drove an old Merc and his co-star Susan Howard would get about in a beat up van.
