JAMES BOND THE RETURN

The celluloid James Bond may be dead in the water but Daniel Craig will return as the secret agent in the new game from Activision. The company have just announced that Joss Stone will belt of an all new theme song to go with the game and also appear in the game as a character - she'll put her smoky pipes to use voicing a character in the upcoming video game "James Bond 007: Blood Stone," from Activision.

A Stone likeness will appear in the game (for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC), and she'll be right there alongside Bond himself, actor Daniel Craig, and Judi Dench (as M), both of whom are reprising their film roles in the game. The singer will also record an original song that she wrote with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics titled "I'll Take It All."

While performing for the gaming world might be novel for Stone, the English soul singer has lent her vocals to several big-screen soundtracks, including songs for 2005's "Fantastic Four" and 2008's "Sex and the City: The Movie," on which she sang "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" with Al Green. Stone has also previously flexed some acting muscle, making her film debut in 2006 in the fantasy adventure film "Eragon," as the witch Angela.

The Archive says: Craig thuggish performance as Bond may be perfect for the gaming medium.
