Wild West eMonday - Free eBook

Joanne Walpole these days, using the name Terry James writes westerns for The Black Horse imprint. Her debut Black Horse title, Long Shadows gathered some rave reviews and her latest BHW is Echoes of a Dead Man.

And when it comes to these new fangled eBooks Joanne was ahead of the curve having released several romantic westerns or historical romances as they were billed as far back as 2005.

As a special gift for Wild West eMonday we have a copy of Raven Dove by Joanne Walpole for all readers of the Tainted Archive. The book comes in PDF format which all eReader devices can display but of course it can be formatted to any device using the free CALIBRE software.

Over to Joanne -
Some of you may know me better as Black Horse Western writer Terry James whose titles include Long Shadows, Echoes Of A Dead Man and, coming soon, Ghosts Of Bluewater Creek. I consider these titles to be what I would call ‘John Wayne’ type or standard westerns. However, before I adopted this style and traditional publishing, I cut my teeth with an e-published romance western. Don’t be misled though, the romance is subtle and secondary. I’ll admit the language is more flowery than I use nowadays but the action, adventure and mystery that my readers will have come to expect are all there.
So, in support of Wild West Monday I have made my first release, which was published as an e-book back in 2005, available free to The Tainted Archive readers. I hope that by doing this it will help to promote the genre to a wider audience and also serve as an introduction to the format and go some way to show how easy it is to access an e-book using either a computer, a specialised reader or, as I do, a smartphone.

SYNOPSIS
Young Vivien Clinton lives in fear of her abusive uncle, a bitter man set on making sure she doesn’t follow in her mother's footsteps. After his death, she seizes the opportunity for a new life on her terms. Refusing marriage to a violent man is only the first step on a long road to discovery. Along the way she must confront her fears and prejudices, expose a past she never imagined and prevent a climactic confrontation between brothers. When the dust settles, will her life be everything she dreamed it would be or a nightmare worse than any she ever imagined? Can the raven of darkness really change into the white dove of peace?

REVIEW SNIPPETS
…a delightful tale and I would recommend it to anyone with
a love of small town westerns. (Lighthouse Literary Reviews)
filled with lots of twists and turns. (Fallen Angel Reviews)
… the more you reveal, the more questions you plant in the reader's mind. (MaryAnn - a reader)
I admit to not being a big fan of this genre. This book, however, kept my interest from page one.
 (Coffee Time Romance)
