Wild West eMonday - The Tarnished Star heads towards the big screen

The Tarnished Star was my first published western and it did rather well - I started The Tainted Archive in order to push the book and like the book it took on a life of its own. The Tarnished Star went onto become Black Horse Westerns quickest ever selling title - selling out the initial print run on pre-orders alone which meant that it went into a reprint a full three months before it was even published. The hardback is still on sale on Amazon and other online retailers and a large print paperback comes out from Linford Westerns this March.

At the moment the book is optioned for a film, to be directed and co-scripted by the talented Neil Jones of Burn Hand Film Production. Neil loves the book, calling the main character Cole Masters, layered and full. At the moment the film is at the scripting stage and it will probably be at least a year before shooting begins but rest assured it won't be too long before we see Cole Masters strutting across the big screen. We've already talked about casting and possible locations and I've never been more excited by a project.


I'll have an interview with Neil here soon regarding the forthcoming boxing bio-pic, The Risen in which I myself have a small part and I'll also be asking him about his love of the western genre and his plans for The Tarnished Star. In the meantime I leave you with the trailer for The Risen.
