This is another in the reluctant gunfighter genre and it's written in a straight forward, no nonsense style with the reader mostly knowing what to expect next but it's nonetheless enjoyable for it.
Nick Warren was dismayed to see a range war break out between the 0 Bar and Slash Y ranches. He has seen enough mindless violence and bloodshed and wants no part of the bloody range war that is brewing.
However neither side has any time for neutrals and soon the inevitable happens and Nick is dragged into the thick of the action.
When it came to the fight, the blurb almost yells, Nick was way ahead of any of them.
If you spot this book in the second-hand shops or on one of the online auction sites it's well worth picking up if you're after a quick and entertaining western in the traditional mould. Its kind of like settling down to watch one of those old John Wayne movies on a Sunday afternoon.
