Anyway recently I found a great tool that records a blog stats - you can check where in the world people are logging onto your blog from, the number of daily visitors, which is the most popular post and loads more. I've printed my stat gra
ph for this past week here. Incidentally yesterday's post got the highest one day stat thus far.Anyone who wants their own stat counter scroll down to the counter in my side bar and click on it. You'll have to register your blog but it's all easy and more to the point free. If I, a man who recently deleted his address book and once telephoned a PC shop to ask where I could buy a new driver that my PC said it needed, can get it working then anyone can.

I also initially found my blog a great way to kick start my writing, although that has decreased some as I've added more and more folks to my blogrolls. sometimes it's a bit hard to get around to all the great posts.
Looks to be the same one I use Gary, not convinced at how accurate it is at pinpointing where everyone comes from on the world map but it sure makes for some interesting reading. I particularly like the "recent came from" section as this has lead me to some great sites and blogs.

I'm not so sure I want to know. I had an old web site where I checked the numbers daily and it started to drive me a little batty towards the end.

Charles - Agree fully - I often spend hours browsing blogs. Mind you I've discovered some great books and comics from blogs.
I used StatCounter for awhile but just got used to SiteMeter, so am using that instead. It's addictive, huh? Ever since I posted the lyrics to that SNL sketch, mine have been going through the roof--almost 300 visitors yesterday, where I normally get 20 on a decent day. Thanks for being encouraging about posting non-L'Amour stuff--although I can't imagine many of those visitors being interested in my blog for anything other than Ras Trent, unlike our community here. Anyway, I'll be posting soon about "The Passing of Rope Nose," a story that's shaping up to be quite good!
