WESTERN STORY AUGUST 1954
This is a British pulp or rather a British edition of original American material - the credits inside state that it was published by Atlas Publishing by arrangement with Popular Publications of New York. Open the front cover to the index page and, like its American cousins, there's that guy in his underpants - Charles Atlas.
The magazine contains a novelette - Canyon of the Damned by Giff Cheshire and four short stories - Death by my Judge by Frank Castle, Guns of the Lost by Richard Ferber, Contraband by Art Mclean and Satan's Lawman by A Kenneth Brent.
The magazine is only half the length of the American mags of the day which is why there aren't so many entertaining adverts. In facts the AD's in the mag are rather subdued and make no way out claims.
Ok now starter for ten - can anyone supply any information on the authors contained in this magazine.
