Granny follows in that long tradition of amateur detectives and is even
referred to by a cop a couple of times in the book as Miss Maple on
steroids. Though an older woman, she is as different from the Christie
character as one could be. Miss Marple was a prim and proper lady of her
time and Granny is a pipe smoking, heavy metal listening woman of hers.
Oh, she does the grandmother things: baking cookies for sales and
tending to her grandchildren.
