Great Western Fiction magazine - available now.
The magazine has bought two of my western stories written under the byline Jack Martin. The Devl's Right Hand will be in issue 3 and A Man Called Masters is slated for issue 8. The magazine, of which a preview issue is available from the website, is along the lines of Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock in that it concentrates on fiction but obviously western centric.

Anyone who likes traditional westerns should buy the mag as professional western fiction magazines are rare if non existant.
The month's Ellery Queen features a wonderful reproduction of a piece by Norman Saunders that was originally published by Black Mask Magazine in 1950.
Inside the striking covers is the usual selection of genre comment and fiction. With the highlight being the reprinting of a Mickey Spillane/Max Collins collaboration, There's a killer loose. But there is much more to enjoy and Jan Burke's The Fallen is sheer excellence. Bill Cryder's Blog Bytes is as informative as ever but I do wish this section was extended.
Sister publication, Alfred Hitchcock Magazine is a smiliar blend of fiction and comment but the stories lean more towards thriller/mystery rather than the sleuth angle favoured by EQ.
The cover this issue is a little bland for my tastes but the fiction inside is all hard hitting.
