Comic Book Resources held the poll for the best comic book writers ever - thousands of comic book fans registered votes and the top five comic book writers were:

1 -Alan Moore - who of course penned, among others, the groundbreaking Watchmen

2- Grant Morrison - who started off in British comics before going totally global

3 - Neil Gaimen - Mr Sandman himself

4- Stan Lee - who is perhaps the best known comic book writer in the world

5- Frank Miller - the man who made Batman cool again
