Apparantly this is an old Sherlock Holmes joke - I'd never heard it, though. It tickled me and so in the interest of time wasting, I share:
Watson and Holmes are on a camping trip at night in their sleeping bags. Holmes says something is amiss and asks Watson to look up and tell him what he can deduce. "I see the stars and judge that a clear night will bring cold temperatures," says Watson.
Holmes replies, "Watson, you idiot, someone has stolen our tent!"
