Not content with dominating almost every avenue of the retail trade in the UK, putting the farmers out of work, closing the pubs and selling books for next to nothing, supermarket giant Tescos have now taken it upon themselves to become censors.
Recently they took the Manic Street Preachers album, Journal for Plague Lovers from all their stores because of the cover image - Tesco claimed the cover showed a young girl who had been left blood stained after a beating by bullies. Other dumb-arse retailers - Morrisons, ASDA and Sainsbury's also followed Tesco's lead.
However the cover image, which actually shows a girl born with a port-wine stain birthmark, has just come second in a best cover art poll. The cover makes a statement that people born with facial disfigurements should not be treated differently.
It is also interesting that in Tesco's DVD charts they have a title called - Inglorious .
