NEW KINDLE RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED

Amazon finally announced the release date of Amazon Kindle 3. According to reports, the company will launch Kindle 3 on August 27. The Kindle 3, which has different color, comes with two versions. The versions of new Kindle are very similar to that of Apple iPad as Amazon launched Kindle Wi-Fi and Kindle Wi-Fi + 3G. The Wi-Fi only Kindle 3 costs £109 whereas the device with addition 3G feature costs £149.
The Amazon latest eBook reader weighs only 8.7 ounces. The Kindle 3 is lighter than its predecessor. As expected, Kindle 3 doesn’t come with color screen as found in Apple iPad.
Amazon report this month that it has sold more Kindle formatted eBooks than traditional books. The device with facing the competition from Apple as California-based Mac Makers entered in the eBooks market with the launched of iBooks for iPhone and iPad.

I've already placed my order with Amazon for a device and have sold my old eReader, the Elonex on Ebay for £120 so by the time I pay for my new Kindle I'm still £11 up on the deal. Happy days indeed.
