The Internet Trail
Jack Martin rides the Internet trail
In recent years, if one single thing has changed our lives more than any other it’s the Internet. This magazine has it own extensive web site, as do most publications in these tech savvy times. This exclusive online content can often be an extension of the written magazine and explore themes and subjects covered in the current issue. Often readers can leave comments on articles or features they’ve read and vibrant virtual communities are formed.
The wealth of Wild West related information on the web can be daunting and would take several lifetimes to wade through. Hopefully this new regular section of Western Magazine will guide you to some interesting websites.
One site I read daily is Western Fiction Review (http://westernfictionreview.blogspot.com/), which is a great mix of reviews and comments on classic western novels. The owner of the blog, known, as Steve M is a UK based western fan who is knowledgeable of the genre. The site is also a great resource for scans of some wonderfully lurid western paperback covers.
The Broken Trail (http://brokentrails.blogspot.com/) is the home of western author, Jack Giles. The site features eclectic musings from the popular writer and some inspiring details of his struggle to learn to write again after suffering a stroke in 1999. A western writer with a story as heroic as any invented for the pages of a novel.
Vintage Hardboiled Reads (http://vinpulp.blogspot.com/) is another site that reviews old pulp paperbacks but what makes it stand out is, writer August West’s enthusiasm and love for the subject. Crime and thrillers usually feature highly but many classic westerns have been covered with the promise of more in the future.
The History of the West (http://www.the-wild-west.co.uk/) is a colourfully designed site that offers an overview of the historic period we mean when we speak of the old west. Written by Graham Larson in a style sure to please younger surfer the site is a treasure trove for anyone only just starting out learning about the Wild West.

Is The Western Magazine an on-line magazine? It's late at night and I might have mis-read something along the way.
Totally unrelated - I was thinking about Paul Lehman Evanovich - when I recalled something about the ovich part of the name. It's like the Welsh app - son of. I rather imagine that it was Ivanovich originally - because I can't find Evanovich as a Russian name.
Another interesting name I did come across was an author named Janet Evanovich.
Ray - it's a new print magazine. The copy of the article to be published will be longer and more up to date. The mag's at tentative stages at the moment.
That's answered my question too. Looking forward to hearing more new about it as and when in becomes available.
