My wife and I visited Lincoln eight or nine years ago. It is really off the beaten path. This remoteness is good in one way in that the town is still much as it appeared in the 1880s, but it also means that the traveler is advised to plan ahead in terms of finding a place to stay, clocking arrival times, etc. Its a must-see for anyone interested in Billy the Kid and the Lincoln County War.
