western author Ray 's (Jack Giles") top 10 western books

Hi Gary,
You asked for other people to
mention their top 10 westerns.
Mainly because the benchmark
 books like Owen Wister's 'The
Virginian'; Jack Schaeffer's
'Shane'; Zane Grey's 'Riders Of The
Purple Sage' and Alan LeMay's
'The Searchers' are virtually in
everyone's top book list my list
is not guaged that way. 'It goes
without saying...' is the
term that comes to mind.
Here is my list and number
1 is my number 1 and if I was stranded on a
desert island with only one western novel -
then that would be it.
