Comedian Bill Hicks, use to do a routine where he went on about sitting in a diner down South and reading a book, this waitress comes over to him and asks, "Why are you reading for?", not, "What are you reading?", but "Why are you reading for?" I think Hicks's answer went along the lines of - "So I don't have to end up being a waffle waitress," or something along those lines.
