Next to Leone's Dollar movies, the original Django is perhaps my favourite of all the so called Spaghetti Westerns, and I'm also a big fan of Quentin Tarantino so I'm foaming at the mouth at the prospect of a Django remake directed by Tarantino himself. The director has always cited Django as one of his favourite movies and indeed the ear chopping scene from Res Dogs was lifted from Sergio Corbucci's cooler than cool western. The latest news is that Leonardo DeCaprio has been cast but not, as expected, in the Django role but rather as the evil, Calvin Candie. In the meantime both Jamie Foxx and Chris Tucker have been linked with the coveted title role.
This one is looking interesting.
