Tom Mankiewicz, writer of several of the James Bond movies, has revealed in an interview with Entertainment Female First that Mel Gibson's dream of playing James Bond were almost fulfilled but the actor was considered to short to play 007.
"At one point Mel Gibson wanted to play Bond. And Cubby was against it. Cubby first of all had a thing about tall people." Tom Mankiewicz
Rumours are also circulating the Mel Gibson will lose out on playing Mad Max in the forthcoming Mad Max 4 because he is deemed too old. Charlie Theron will play the role in the apocalyptic thriller.

Mel already lost out on Mad Max sadly. Tom Hardy was cast last week, with CharLIZE Theron as his love interest. I love Hardy, but it won't be the same without Gibbo.
Mad Max just won't be the same without Mel.
