Does the iPhone really compete with Amazon's Kindle electronic reading gizmo? Geeks have debated that point for many moons now. The debate, however, is now officially over. Apple said Thursday it will be bringing the iPad's electronic bookstore to the iPhone.
The news was announced at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, Thursday, as the company gave a sneak peak at a number of new features that will be included in the next version of its mobile smart phone software, iPhone OS.
The software will allow users to buy electronic books from Apple, read them on their iPhone or iPod touch, and keep them synchronized with books they're reading on their iPad.
