Black Horse Extra
The new issue of online magazine Black Horse Extra is now live HERE
This issue features a large, very flattering article and interview on yours truly, as well as many more features including a great round-table type chat on heroes too good to kill off. There is also available from the site a free sample chapter of Chap O'keefe's latest Misfit Lil adventure.
Get over there folks.
RELATED: There are two main black horse western sites - Black Horse Express and Black Horse Extra. The Tainted Archive will be looking at both of these sites in depth soon.
And be sure to check here tomorrow for an interview with Howard Hopkins/Lance Howard veteran of the Black Horse Stable.

The announcement of the new Extra is much appreciated, Gary. Thank you -- and for providing the material for a fascinating lead article! I followed up your comment that you thought Tom Jones had copyright on the title "Phenomenon from Pontypridd". I googled it! Results: Jack Martin, second listing; Tom Jones not mentioned till entry five. Watch out all ageing sex symbols!
The new Extra seems to be pleasing everyone. Typical early feedback as follows:
"I've just checked out the new BHE - and by jove, you've done it again! A terrific issue, with lots of good stuff in there, thoughtfully illustrated and as always very reader-friendly. I particularly enjoyed the references to BLAST TO OBLIVION - I'm about two-thirds of the way through reading it right now and am THOROUGHLY enjoying it. And since I had made an unsuccessful search for Paul Lederer just the day before yesterday (because I have his Owen G Irons story SIX DAYS FROM SUNDOWN on my reading pile) it was good to see that you had actually tracked him down. I think he will make very good interview material. . . . Anyway, bottom line - another superb issue and one you should be justly proud of."
A small correction, I'd like to make to what Gary says. The sample chapter currently accessible from the Extra is not from the latest Misfit Lil adventure, which was Misfit Lil Cleans Up. That book is another that went out of print at the speed of light. So, almost by default, the previous Lil title, Misfit Lil Hides Out, is substituting. The good part? This book is (I think) still available from the publishers and will shortly be coming up in paperback at the tremendous pre-order price of £6.74 or $10.32 American from the Book Depository -- and with free worldwide shipping!
I've also taken the chance to run at the end of the excerpt the picture I think should be on the cover. Very fitting and great fun, especially for folks who know their public-domain western movies! Check it out. . . .
...Howard Hopkins/Lance Howard of the Black HOSE Stable - sounds kinky!
