The current issue of Writer News (October 2009) comes packaged with an extra 48 page magazine that lists over 200 competitions for writers running in 2010 with combined prizes totalling £435,235.

The main magazine features a interview with writer Alastair Reynolds who explains how he secured a £1m deal for 10 books in a SCI-FI series. There are also interviews with father and son writing team, Dick and Felix Francis - all in all the magazine boasts 74 pages packed with information and writing tips.

But I'm sure you lot want to hear about the competition special.

The guide lists 200 competitions to enter - the magazine claims that it is their most comprehensive competition listing ever. And looking through the list I see no reason to doubt them.

There are many competitions that are run by the magazine itself and entry forms for some of these can be found in this supplement but it also list other competitions that the writer can enter.
