Archive bits and pieces

Sony 3D televisions will be on sale in the UK this month -Sony said that the new 3D TV's will not be too expensive and priced comparably with most high end standard TV's.

`Series 4 of The Avengers has just become available on DVD - This is the season that introduced Diana Rigg as Emma Peel and is a fan favourite. The series is also notable for being the last shot in black and white. It broke records at the time when it was sold to the US for a record £2 million - the most then paid for a British TV series.

The groundbreaking World at War series is being restored in high definition to be released to coincide with the 70'th anniversary of The Battle of Britain.

2000AD currently boasts a strong line up with the return of Bill Savage (this week's issue features episode 3). I don't buy 2000AD these days but whenever there's a Bill Savage story I do. Takes me back to the old days you see.

The Killing of Mini Quintana by Jeffrey A. Cohen is a serial killer thriller with a difference. Out now from Welcome Rain Publishing it kept me turning the pages until the final thrilling denouncement. Expect a full review here soon.

A new Judge Dredd movie is due to go into production - let's hope it's an improvement on the Stallone movie of 1995.

Me folks got a 3d telly the other week. Watched Monsters .V. Aliens on it. Bloody spectacular. Just wished I'd seen Avatar in 3D now. Half the time it was like the characters and items were properly in the middle of the lounge. It's on my wish list.
