MISFIT LIL GETS A MAKE OVER

Chap O'Keefe's ever popular western heroine, Misfit Lil is to return in a large print edition from Ulverscroft this coming August. The new illustration of Lil from artist, Michael Thomas that will grace the jacket truly is exceptional.

Chap tells us:

"Book cover artist Michael Thomas has painted Lil before, of course, once basing his interpretation on an old photo of the (in)famous and hugely popular Lillie Langtry (1853-1929). Recently, Michael was commissioned by Ulverscroft publishers Thorpe to paint a new portrait of Lil for the large-print edition of Misfit Lil Robs the Bank, which is coming up in August (and may be available for pre-order somewhere!)."

Pictured below is the original Black Horse Western cover image. The new image is a marked improvement. Still the proof is in the pudding, you must never judge a book by its cover and so on - And Chap always provides exceptional western adventure, whatever the bindings. But it must be said the new image provides a much classier look - man, Lil looks hot for a change!

"So a western that blends the traditional with more challenging subject matter in a well paced plot that once more proves the Misfit Lil series is definitely worth reading."

Although Gary doesn't say so, the last sentence there was from Steve M's flattering review at his always-readable Western Fiction Review (http://westernfictionreview.blogspot.com/
