PUBLISHERS SHARING STOCK IMAGES
These two books one by the late great Louis L'amour and the other by the excellent Chap O' Keefe ,who I know from his books on the Black Horse Western imprint, share identical covers.
When I picked up the L'amour book I was sure I'd read it before but couldn't remember the story so I decided to buy it anyway. Turns out I hadn't read it but recognised the cover image which I saw somewhere on the web for the Chap O'Keefe book.
Could have lost a sale there.
Mind you the BLACK HORSE WESTERN COPY OF THE BOOK HAS A DIFFERENT AND IN MY OPINION BETTER COVER:
In fact this is one of the best Black Horse cover images I've seen in a long time. Very moody and artistic. Looking like a quality oil painting of a bygone age.

This happens quite a bit with Black Horse covers. In fact, I think was Keith who pointed out a number of German adult western covers that were reused for Black Horse, where the topless girl was merely painted out of the scene (a shame too, because BHWs really could use more women on their covers. I agree on the above covers, the Black Horse one is much warmer, while the L'Amour one seems a bit harsh.
