THE BIRTHDAY PRESENT' S SHIT!
Carole Kleis got a crappy gift for her birthday.
Carole's husband, Dick, known for surprising his wife, did so in a big way Tuesday, one day before her 67th birthday.
He used a manure spreader to write "HAP B DAY LUV U" in a farm field visible from the living room of the couple's rural Zwingle home on Bennettville Road.
"Someone said 'Do something you're good at,' so I made a card with my 'pen,'" Dick said. "I've just run out of stuff to do for her birthday."
Dick said it took about three hours and four loads of liquid manure to create the message. One load equals 400 bushels.
According to the Iowa State University Extension, there are 77.4 pounds of manure in a bushel. That means Dick used about 123,840 pounds of the smelly stuff to create his unique message.
